Harvesting Wheat with International 8-16 Tractor and Binders

Farmers harvesting wheat with an International 8-16 HP kerosene tractor and two Deering seven foot binders on the farm of W.P. Ridley in Maury County. Three African American farm hands are binding and stacking bales. An original letter attached to the back of the image notes that the workers cut eighty acres of wheat within thirty hours using 30 gallons of kerosene and about 5 quarts of cylinder oil, with a total cost per acre of about eleven and three-fourths cents for fuel.
