Sixth Ward / Marquette School

Exterior of the 6th Ward School, 1237 Williamson Street, built in 1894. Several people are posing on the road and sidewalk in front of the building with two horse-drawn buggies. The building was designed by the Madison firm of Conover and Porter, and featured five turrets, the tallest of which stood nine stories above the ground. It was finished with Ashland brown stone and cream brick. Renamed Marquette School in 1904. Torn down in April 1952.
