"Flower Drum Song" Publicity Shot

Image

Several actors, all of whom are white and are wearing "yellowface" makeup to caricature Asians, are either dancing or looking on. Caption reads: "The Chinese elders looked on in horror as their Americanized offspring danced in a most unoriental manner. This was one of the production numbers in 'Flower Drum Song,' the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical that opened Wednesday night at the Sunset Playhouse in Elm Grove."
