The first public day school for the deaf, established under the law of Wisconsin of 1885, providing for such schools in incorporated cities and villages with State aid, and constituting what is known as the "Wisconsin system of educating the deaf." Standing in the second row are Willie Malloy, Oscar Teweles, Frances Wettstein, Paul Binner, Willie Tischafer and Patrick Ryan.
