There are other children on the ice, including a boy sitting on a chair at right. Small evergreen trees are protruding from the snow piles around the perimeter of the rink. In the background is the rear facade of a block of three-story row houses which have a two-story rear extension. Beyond a fence at left is a tall brick commercial building; there are other buildings in the background.
