Herber Paul Brumder (1885-1967) relaxing in an easy chair with his crossed legs on an ottoman as he is reading the Germania Herold newspaper. A note accompanying the negative reads: "Our first Christmas December 1916." Brumder and his wife Margaret Bouer Brumder (1893-1970) were married in July, 1916, and lived at 2030 E. Lafayette Place.
