Joseph R. McCarthy Memorial
Image
Dedication of the Joseph R. McCarthy Memorial in the Outagamie Counthouse on the second anniversary of the senator's death. Directly in front of the bust is sculptor Suzanne Stevenson. The chief speaker was Senator Styles Bridges, in the left foreground with his back to the camera. Mrs. McCarthy, who is not visible in this photograph, told the crowd of 400-500 people that thousands of individuals had contributed to the memorial. In 2001 the bust was moved to the Outagamie County Historical Society.
