Cheap Clothing Imports

Children of unemployed members of the Amalgamated Clothing workers picket with their parents to protest low-wage clothing imports. They carry signs that read "Wages, Not Welfare." The Butcher Worker, a publication of the Amalgamated Meatcutters union which printed this photograph in its May 1975 issue, wrote that 60 clothing plants had shut down in the United States since 1974.
