Frank Elliott interviews E. E. (Eugene Edward Brossard on November 15, 1955. Brossard discusses growing up near Fall River in Columbia County and in the Town of Calamus in Dodge County, his father's farm, attending school with a teacher who inspired him to pursue an education, and going to the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He also talks about the various professions he held over the years, including teaching in a one room schoolhouse, practicing law in Ashland, serving as the mayor of the city of Columbus, Wisconsin, assistant attorney general, and as the revisor of Wisconsin statutes, a position he took in 1922. Brossard also discusses boxing, the Grange, and political luminaries such as Robert La Follette.
