Wade House's Arts & Crafts Fair Returns August 24 with Skilled Artisans, Live Music and More
Shop dozens of vendor booths, uncover handcrafted treasures and explore the scenic historic site all for the special event rate of $6
GREENBUSH, Wis. – Experience the artistry and charm of handmade goods and traditional trades at Wade House’s Arts & Crafts Fair, returning Sunday, Aug. 24. Set on the historic grounds of Wade House, this event features the work of dozens of artists and craftspeople from across Wisconsin and beyond, offering guests a one-of-a-kind summer experience at an incredible value.
From potters and jewelry makers to woodworkers and herbalists, guests can browse an array of goods fit for their personal style and every cozy corner of their home. Discover unique creations including glass jewelry, fall floral wreaths, handcrafted wooden keepsakes and more.
Beyond the vendor booths, enjoy bites from local food stands such as John Michael Kohler Art Center’s Culinary Art Car, while listening to live performances by local musician Danny Ognavic.
After shopping, enjoy the historic site’s offerings. Visit the Dockstader Blacksmith Shop, water-powered Herrling Sawmill and tour the 1850s 27-room Greek Revival Style Wade House Stagecoach Inn. Additionally, guests can take a scenic ride by horse-drawn wagon to the Visitor’s Center to tour the Wesley W. Jung Carriage Museum, home to Wisconsin’s largest collection of carriages and wagons, and to find more treasures while shopping at the site’s gift store.
Wade House’s Arts & Crafts Fair will be held rain or shine. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 24. Tickets are $6 per person (regularly $15 for adults and teens) and free for children under five. For the Arts & Crafts Fair, we recommend guests enter the property near the Wade House Stagecoach Inn (W7824 Center Rd., Greenbush). Guests may also enter the Visitor Center on Highway 23, though it is not recommended.
About Wade House
Wade House is one of the Wisconsin Historical Society’s 12 historic sites and museums. Located in Greenbush, the site includes an1850s stagecoach inn that was built to serve traffic along a plank road connecting Fond du Lac and Sheboygan. The site tells the story of frontier entrepreneur Sylvanus Wade and his family during the 1850s and 1860s. In addition to the inn, the historic site includes the Dockstader blacksmith shop and Herrling sawmill, one of the few working, water-powered sawmills of its kind in the nation. Wade House is also home to the Wesley W. Jung Carriage Museum, which houses the state's largest collection of antique carriages and working wagons.
