NOTES
Additional Information:ADDITION ON REAR W/DECK WAS ADDED AROUND 1950. BRICK OFFICE ADDITION ON FRONT WAS ADDED IN 1960. PETER JUNEAU (1800?-1869) WAS A BROTHER OF SOLOMON JUNEAU THE FOUNDER OF MILWAUKEE. Peter arrived in this area with Solomon from Chicago in 1833. They represented the American Fur Co. and built a trading post near the intersection of present day Water St. and Wisconsin Ave. This is believed to have been the first building of the settlement that would one day become Milwaukee. Peter owned 156 acres in the present day Third Ward but moved farther west to purchase 80 acres in Greenfield Township which is present ady West Allis. He acquired more land and moved his family there in 1842. Although his first dwelling was undoubtedly a log cabin, the present house was erected shortly thereafter. He lived in this house until his death. Joseph Juneau lived here from 1869-1924. Mary Juneau rented the property out from 1924-1955. The building became a dentist office in 1955.

Previously surveyed in 1980; lacked initial [historic material]. No changes as of 2007
