| Additional Information: | Holy Angel’s Cemetery sits at the northwest corner of W. Decorah Road and S. Main Street and consists of 9.92 acres. The cemetery features two oval circulation paths in its center; the larger outer oval is bisected by north-south and east-west oriented paths that connect to the adjacent streets. The west entrance from S. Main Street features entrance gates that demarcate the pedestrian and vehicle access points. These are constructed of quarried stone laid in random ashlar. A single stone pillar is also located at the northwest corner of the cemetery at S. Main Street and Sycamore Street. A wood sign demarcates the east entrance from W. Decorah Road. The first Catholic cemetery in West Bend was established in 1856 but was subsequently abandoned. The graves were relocated to the present site when it was purchased by Holy Angel’s Congregation in 1891. |
