| Additional Information: | Cream brick so prominent in Brodhead's architecture is the building material used in this early residence. The two story main portion of the structure is characterized by tall segmental arch windows and a trabeated front entrance way. John B. Blanchard, one of the Vermont natives who arrived in 1856, was involved in the grain and livestock business. His wife, Helen, was a member of the Laird family which also came from Vermont and settled in the Brodhead area. |
