| Additional Information: | ROUND ARCHED WINDOW AND WOOD SHINGLES IN GABLE, POLYGONAL TURRET ABOVE PORCH W/ FLUTED IONIC COLUMNS, SHINGLED 1ST STORY. 2025 - This Queen Anne house was constructed in 1900. With a primary elevation that faces east, this two-and a half-story house features a front-gabled, asphalt-shingled roof with cross-gables and a polygonal turret, and a rough-cut stone foundation. The house is clad in wooden clapboards, with round wooden shingles found on the first story and well as the gables of the uppermost story. The primary entrance is deeply recessed beneath a flat-roofed wooden porch at the northeastern corner of the building, flanked by multi-paned French doors with sidelights and transom leading to the interior sunroom. The porch features rough-cut stone piers at the corners with a criss-cross wooden balustrade between. Fluted wooden pillars atop the piers support a wide entablature and cornice. A two-story box bay with a hipped roof flanks the porch to the left, with each story containing a bay of two 1-over-1 double hung sashes. A four-light, round-arched window is located in the peak of the gable above. The polygonal turret atop the porch contains 1-over-1 double hung sashes in each of its second and third story sides, with a conical cap with flared eaves above. Vertical wooden boards have been applied at the corners of both the box bay, turret planes, and the wall surface, while horizontal boards are found at the lintel level. These Stick Style board details carry throughout the house’s exterior elevations. Most windows throughout the building appear to have wooden storms sashes applied. |
