Additional Information:POINTED ARCHED STAINED GLASS WINDOWS PROJECTING ENTRY W/ STEPPED GABLE "RESTORATION" IS BEING UNDERTAKEN IN 1988 TO RESTORE CHURCH TO ITS 1885 APPEA RANCE The St. Matthew's Catholic Church complex has been surveyed, consisting of the 1858 church building (AHI #8795), the circa 1920 rectory (AHI #248404), the 1961 church and school building (AHI #248405), and modern outbuilding and ramada (AHI #248406). The roof material on the 1858 church building was replaced with asphalt shingles. Shingles around the base of steeple were also replaced with synthetic shingles. The original walkway leading to the entrance vestibule from the road (STH 32) has been expanded into a driveway, and a couple of trees and the short outer fence were removed in the process. The modern outbuilding and ramada (AHI #248406) were added west of the 1961 school and church building circa 2008.
