NOTES
Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. 1/2 ROUND PALLADIAN MOTIF WINDOW IN FRONT GABLE. WOOD SHINGLES IN GABLES. BAND OF SHINGLES BETWEEN FLOORS. SPINDLED PORCH. Previously surveyed in 1979. The house was owned by SWANN-MINETT REALTY at the time. The map code was 73/36 on a DOT OCONOMOWOC map. Built in 1887, the first owner of this house was George L. Wilsey and his wife Martha. Wilsey owned a retail store on N Main St in Oconomowoc and was also the vice president of the First National Bank of Oconomowoc. After George passed away in 1906, Martha remained at the residence until at least 1926. By no later than 1930, Fred Long purchased the residence and altered the interior to offer multiple "furnished rooms." Long maintained the property until 1940, at which time the Oconomowoc Building and Loan association took possession of the house. By 1943, building permits reveal that Carl Wolf had purchased the building and maintained it as a duplex. The house continues to accommodate multiple living spaces and, as of 2005, owned by David and Caroline Apker.
