Additional Information:DESIGNED IN THE ITALIANATE STYLE, THIS TWO-STORY HOUSE FEATURES AN IRREGULAR SHAPED PLAN CONFIGURATION, A STONE FOUNDATION, A BRICK EXTERIOR, A WOOD TRIM AND AN ASPHALT SHINGLED, TRUNCATED HIP ROOF. RISING ABOVE THIS ROOF IS A GLAZED CUPOLA, WHOSE EAVES ARE LINED WITH TINY PAIRED BRACKETS - EACH WITH PENDANTS. THE VERY SAME BRACKETS APPEAR BENEATH THE EAVES OF THE MAIN ROOF AS WELL. STONE LINTELS AND SILLS ADORN MANY OF THE WINDOWS FOUND THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE. THE HIP ROOFED FRONT PORCH IS SUPPORTED BY TUSCAN COLUMNS. PROJECTNG FORWARD ON THE PORCH ROOF IS A GABLED PEDIMENT. IT TOO, IS SUPPORTED BY TUSCAN COLUMNS AND MARKS THE FRONT ENTRANCE. THE FRONT ENTRANCE IS ARRANGED WITH A FEDERAL STYLED DOOR SURROUND, COMPLETE WITH A TRANSOM WINDOW. THIS RESIDENCE, WHICH WAS BUILT BETWEEN 1855 AND 1856 (SEE BIB. REF. A), IS IN GOOD CONDITION.

INDIVIDUALS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS DWELLING AND THE DATES OF THEIR ASSOCIATION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: JOSEPH SMITH, FROM 1856 TO 1860; JOHN BROWN, FROM 1866 TO 1868; RICHARD GOLDSWORTHY, from 1871 TO 1880; Nelson H. SNOW, FROM 1890 TO 1915; AND A.T. GRABER IN 1925. (SEE BIB. REF. A). Smith operated a bookstore and confectionery in Mineral Point. Snow was a native of Massachusetts who arrived in Mineral Point in 1858. He was one of the original founders of the Mineral Point Zinc Co. [I]
