NOTES
Additional Information:THIS ONE STORY BUILDING, CONSTRUCTED BETWEEN 1920 AND 1924, IS DESIGNED IN THE COMMERCIAL VERNACULAR AND CONTEMPORARY STYLES. IT FEATURES A RECTANGULAR SHAPED PLAN CONFIGURATION, A STONE FOUNDATION, A BRICK AND STONE EXTERIOR, A WOOD TRIM AND A FLAT ROOF. STONE WAS USED ON THE REAR WALLS, WHILE A CREAM BRICK WAS USED ON THE FACADE. APPEARING AT THE CORNICE LINE IS DECORATIVE, VERTICALLY-ALLIGNED BRICK WORK, WHICH OFFERS CONTRAST TO THE HORIZONTALLY-ALLIGNED BRICK PLACEMENT ELSEWHERE. A CONCRETE BLOCK ADDITION WAS BUILT AT THE REAR. THE BUILDING IS IN GOOD CONDITION.

THIS STRUCTURE WAS HISTORICALLY KNOWN AT DIFFERENT TIMES AS THE R. J. GALLAGHER GARAGE (SEE BIB. REF. A), AND SLICK'S BOWLING ALLEY (SEE BIB. REF. B). THE BOWLING ALLEY WAS IN EXISTANCE IN THE 1950'S. (SEE BIB. REF. B).

THE BUILDING WAS DESIGNATED LOCALLY, BECOMING PART OF THE MINERAL POINT LANDMARK DISTRICT IN 1972.
