Additional Information:THIS SIDE GABLED HOUSE WAS BUILT IN 1885. (SEE BIB. REF. A). IT FEATURES A RECTANGULAR SHAPED PLAN CONFIGURATION, A STONE AND BRICK FOUNDATION, A CLAPBOARD EXTERIOR, A WOODEN TRIM AND A GABLE ROOF. THE BRICK LOWER LEVEL WAS BUILT INTO A HILL; THE ORIGINAL CLAPBOARD STRUCTURE WAS APPARENTLY RAISED AND THE FOUNDATION PLACED UNDER THE HOUSE IN THE EARLY 20TH CENTURY. (SEE BIB. REF. A). A REAR ADDITION WAS BUILT FROM 1900 TO 1908. (SEE BIB. REF. B). THE FRONT PORCH WAS BUILT FROM 1908 TO 1915. (SEE BIB. REF. B). THIS RESIDENCE IS IN GOOD CONDITION.

AN INDIVIDUAL ASSOCIATED WITH THIS DWELLING FROM THE EARLY 1880'S TO 1910 WAS JOHN KIRN. (SEE BIB. REF A).

THE BUILDING WAS DESIGNATED LOCALLY, BECOMING PART OF THE MINERAL POINT LANDMARK DISTRICT IN 1972.
