Additional Information: THIS BRICK (NOW PAINTED) TWO-STORY HOUSE FEATURES A SLOPING ROOF AND AN ENTRANCE IN THE FRONT GABLE. PLAIN STONE LINTELS, FRIEZE BOARDS, AND A SIDE LIGHTED ENTRANCE DOOR WITH A TRANSOM WINDOW ADD INTEREST TO THE RESIDENCE. THE BALUSTRADED, TWO-SIDED PORCH IS SUPPORTED BY FLAIRED, SHORT, SQUARE POSTS ON MASONRY BASES. THERE IS ALSO A SHED ROOFED FRAME EXTENSION AT THE REAR.

THIS HOUSE WAS BUILT FOR CHARLES H. ALLEN IN 1867-1868. PREVIOUS OWNERS OF THIS RESIDENCE AND THE DATES THEY POSSESSED IT ARE AS FOLLOWS: K MORRISON IN 1978; LAUGHTON, DATE UNKNOWN; LUCILLE ARTHUR, DATE UNKNOWN; AND DAVE WEIGEL, DATE UNKNOWN.

ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE:

THIS STRUCTURE ADDS TO THE ARCHITECTURAL VARIETY OF THE WEST MAIN STREET HISTORIC DISTRICT.
