Additional Information: THIS FRAME TWO-STORY HOUSE FEATURES A STONE FOUNDATION, A HIPPED ROOF, A GABLE ROOFED RECTANGULAR BAY TO THE FRONT, A THREE-SIDED HIP ROOFED BAY ALSO AT THE FRONT, AND A HIP ROOFED EXTENSION AT THE REAR. ALSO PRESENT IN THE STRUCTURAL DESIGN OF THE HOUSE ARE WINDOW CORNICES, A ROOF DORMER, DECORATIVE SHINGLES IN THE OPEN GABLE ENDS, A RECTANGULAR BAY AND A THREE-SIDED, EAST FACING BAY WITH DENTIL TRIM. A FULL-LENGTH, DECKED, FRONT PORCH HAS DENTIL TRIM, GROOVED DORIC STYLED COLUMNS AND BALUSTRADES.

ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE:

BECAUSE IT ADDS TO THE ARCHITECTURAL VARIETY OF THE STREET, THIS HOUSE IS IMPORTANT TO THE WEST MAIN STREET HISTORIC DISTRICT.
THE M. P. RINDLAUB HOUSE, AS IT WAS ORIGINALLY KNOWN, WAS BUILT IN 1903-1906. (SEE BIB. REF. A, B). IT WAS RESIDED IN VINYL BETWEEN 1983 AND 2005.
