| Additional Information: | PANELS APPEAR ON THE SIDE FACADE, AND A BELT COURSE SEPARATES THE RAISED BASEMENT FROM THE UPPER TWO FLOORS. THE ARCHITECT OF THIS STRUCTURE WAS SELECTED FOLLOWING EXAMINATION OF PLANS HE HAD COMPLETED FOR A SCHOOL IN MARINETTE. ACCORDING TO THE BOSCOBEL DIAL, THE BOSCOBEL SCHOOL IS A SMALLER VERSION, DESIGNED TO ACCOMODATE THE PRIMARY GRADES. THE BUILDING IS A TWO STORY RECTANGLE, RESTING ON A RAISED BASEMENT. THE DESIGN IS CAREFULLY ORDERED, IN A CLASSICAL MANNER, WITH A CENTRAL ENTRANCE FRAMED BY PILASTERS AND ENTABLATURE, PILASTERS MARKING THE CORNERS AND A STRONG CORNICE LINE. HOWEVER, BALANCING THESE VERTICAL COMPONENTS ARE THE STRONG HORIZONTALS OF BELT COURSE AND SPANDREL PANELS. THE SCHOOL WAS COMPLETED IN THE FALL OF 1910. |
