| Additional Information: | A water flume that no longer has a wheel. According to Barland, The Rod and Gun Club worked for laws regulating game and fishing and planted fish in streams. They operated from a club house at 235 Water Street for over 15 years and in 1929 bought property on the west bank of Half Moon Lake to make a 40 acre park. They made trout ponds and had a bathing beach and diving tower. Today, the Rod and Gun Club Park is without a beach, but the area is beautifully lush and features a meandering stream and the remains of the trout ponds. Related Buildings: park shelter and storage shed (separate records). |
