| Additional Information: | Constructed during the Queen Anne Revival style, the two-story frame Clements House, built for Joseph R. Clements, is architecturally important as an example of the ordinary house of the period made fashionable by architectural details sufficent to give the flavor of the popular Victorian Queen Anne style. Features include: east gable roof projecting over three sided two story bay with bracket and pendent ornament, two story north gable roofed wing with added two story enclosed porch; front gable projects over two story rectangular bay with bracket trimmed chamfered lower story; bargeboards and brackets under the eaves; stained glass windows; one bay enclosed entrance porch and open balustrated side porch in rear south angle of house; important architectural example; projecting 2nd story window cornices; triangular pediment shaped window surrounds on first story; entrance porch with turned posts support in angle of house. Rear addition with enclosed porch. 2017 UPDATE - THIS BUILDING LOOKS SUBSTANTIALLY LIKE IT DID WHEN LAST SURVEYED IN 1996. |
