NOTES
Additional Information:This two-story brick commercial building with a flat sloping roof has a bracketed metal cornice topped by finials at the ends and a pedimented date plaque extending above the cornice, while a band of decorative brick work extends across the facade beneath the cornice. A three bay oriel window trimmed with classical influenced quarter columns and long narrow windows with corbeled projecting window cornices further characterize the upper facade. A plain cornice supported by metal pilasters with capitals at the ends of the building remain to accent the store front that has otherwise been completely altered. There is a stone extension added between 1908-1915 at the rear. Although the store front has been drastically altered, this building is architecturally important to the historic district of Darlington because it has retained many of its historic details.
