| Additional Information: | 2014: Original clapboard sheathing covered with vinyl siding; peak shinglework still intact. Based on the citations above, and looking at the house, the circa 1901 date, which cites a remodel in 1901, appears to be the most accurate; therefore the Currier name is ascribed to it. Note that Currier's wife Lucy was a daughter of O.S. Powell. |

Powell estate; the 1908 Pierce County Atlas identifies the property as that of EH Currier. River Falls Journal 18 May 1899: "Elbridge Currier buys the Powell Farm, Pete Paulson will occupy the place as a renter until Currier's lease of the Weld farm expires." RFJ, 5 September 1901: "EH Currier who owns the Powell place, will move there this fall." RFJ, 9 January 1902: Field reports 10 new houses and a number of remodels, including EH Currier. Excerpt from bio sketch of Currier in 1909 History of St. Croix Valley: "He remodeled the house, which was on the old homestead of Oliver S. Powell, into a modern two-story frame dwelling, and here he has lived since." RFJ, 20 February 1919: "EH Currier sold his farm to James L. Stevenson of Monticello, who will take possession March 20. He will go to Montana to look after his farming interests there." RFJ, 31 July 1919: "Charles Boles of Oak Grove bought EH Currier house on east Maple street."
