NOTES
Additional Information:Two historic resources, the house and basement barn, were inventoried at this farmstead. Two historic resources were not inventoried: one large metal garage on the west side of the farmstead was built between 1976 and 1980; it is historic in age but not from the Period of Significance and detracts from the overall integrity of the farmstead. Intervening vegetation and buildings obscured views of a small garage set behind the house. Maps suggest this property was homesteaded between 1904 and 1911, which is the first year a house is depicted here. From at least 1911 to 1931, the property was owned by J.O. Ellickson. Ellickson was not identified in Dane County history books published in the early twentieth century, and no additional information about him was located. This 2.5-story Folk Victorian house has a base that is obstructed from view, walls clad in narrow lap siding (appears to be synthetic replacement), and asphalt shingled steep hipped roof with intersecting hipped roof and gabled wall dormers. A wraparound porch has a concrete base, squared wood posts, and shallow hipped roof. A gabled pediment with wood fanlight is set at the corner of the porch to denote its entrance. Sash windows are modern synthetic inserts. This L-plan basement barn is set at the north end of the farmstead. It has a stone basement and upper walls clad in painted vertical wood, and metal gabled roof. Direct views were obstructed by intervening vegetation. At least one wood loft door has been retained on the front-gabled end walls, and basement entrances and windows appear to be historic (some have been infilled with glass block).
