| Additional Information: | Two-story, hip-roof houses were very popular throughout the district and they were tailored to a variety of period revival styles of architecture. This fine brick house is eclectic in design meaning that it incorporates the features of several architectural styles, but none is particularly dominant. Topping the front door, for example, is a distinctive English Tudor Revival style pointed stone arch and trimming the window above it on the second story is a small Mediterranean style iron balconette. The delicate curve at the edges of the roof is a feature that is identified with Arts and Crafts style houses of the period. The original owner was a purchasing agent for the Koehring Company that manufactured concrete mixing equipment. |
