| Additional Information: | Rising one-and-one-half stories from a concrete block foundation, this Craftsman-inspired bungalow is side gabled and sheathed with faux log siding; its wide overhanging eaves are supported by wooden knee braces. A shed-roof dormer rises from the asphalt shingle-sheathed roof that extends to shelter the first-floor open porch. Windows throughout the house are replacement sash examples, some of which include an additional round-arched upper pane. A one-story addition extends from the rear, behind which is a deck. A two-car garage, also sheathed with faux log siding, is located northwest of the house. This bungalow was built in 1916 to serve as the parsonage for the First Presbyterian Church, which is located next-door to the south. Built at an estimated cost of $1,500, construction began in June and it was complete as of October; the carpenter/contractor was Ray Sackett of Crandon. The first pastor to live in the parsonage was Rev. Benjamin Freye and his wife Lily. The house is now privately owned. |
