NOTES
Additional Information:This one-story, rectangular-plan church was built in 1956. It is clad in stone with a concrete foundation. The building features a front-gable asphalt-shingle roof with a stone cornice and a cross at the gable crest. The front (west) facade features original metal double-doors, concrete steps with a metal railing, and a wood-bracketed, front-gable, pedimented awning. Two original, three-pane, fixed opaque glass windows and an original secondary entrance with a metal staircase and railing are on the side (south) elevation. Three original, three-pane, fixed opaque glass windows are on the side (north) elevation. On the rear (east) elevation is an original shed-roof, stone-clad ell. A stone masonry chimney is on the southeast portion of the roof. The building appears to be unaltered. The Saxon-Gurney Community Church was built in 1956 as a Presbyterian church by the Gogebic parish. It still serves a Presbyterian congregation today.
