| Additional Information: | 2023: This one-story single-family residence was constructed in the Colonial Revival style circa 1940. The house stands at the southeast corner of 10th Avenue and Virginia Street with a principal elevation facing north toward 10th Avenue. It is L-shaped in plan with a cross hipped roof. The foundation is poured concrete. The original exterior cladding has been covered or replaced with vinyl siding; however, the wood frieze trim below the eaves has been retained. The narrow eaves are boxed with aluminum soffit. The principal elevation is symmetrical with a primary entrance centered below a slight front-gabled wall dormer. The entrance is articulated with a dentiled entablature and fluted pilasters framing the single door and flanking full-height single-pane side lights. Picture windows, consisting of square central panes flanked by one-over-one sidelights, are evenly spaced on either side of the entrance. An interior brick chimney rises from the east roof slope and is framed below with tall vertical single-pane fixed sash windows that are non-original and uncharacteristic of the period and style. A secondary entrance is in the east elevation which faces Virginia Street. A two-bay detached garage is behind the rear wing of the house; it is accessed via Virginia Street. |
