| Additional Information: | This 1-story Contemporary commercial building was constructed in 1962 as a Firestone Tire store. It is rectangular in plan with composition board and glass walls and a butterfly roof with widely overhanging eaves. The front elevation faces north and is asymmetrical in plan with glue-laminated beams forming a T-shape that supports the roof and forms the center of the façade. On each side of the vertical beam are banks of large shop windows with metal frames (these appear to be newer replacements). The primary entrance is recessed just west of the vertical beam. The wall above the shop windows and entrance is clad in composition board and supports signage for the commercial spaces within. The east elevation features regularly spaced, exposed glue-laminated beams under the overhanging eave with shop windows continuing along the wall below. |
