| Additional Information: | Built circa 1918, this one-story brick commercial building features a false front with brick corbelling. Its façade includes special front windows with five lights across the top and the main entrance, which consists of a single wooden door with one light and a transom above. The south elevation has three, five-over-one windows. All the windows have stone sills and lintels. To support its current iteration as a bank, a drive-up window and porte cochère were added to the building’s north elevation. The Farmers Saving Bank of Edmund is associated with the broad pattern of small-town banks established in small farming communities and is recommended eligible under Criterion A. The brick false-front and brick corbelling are unique features for a bank, and is recommended eligible under Criterion C. |
