| Additional Information: | This 1-story Contemporary commercial building was constructed in 1954 as Bakula’s Frozen Custard Drive-In. It is irregular in plan with concrete block walls and an upward sloping, irregularly-shaped shed roof that projects outward from the façade to create sheltered seating areas in front of the building. At the western end of the façade, a rectangular extension of the roof is further projected and is supported by narrow metal poles with stone-veneered planters at the base of each. The underside of the projecting roof contains regularly-spaced square light fixtures. The front elevation of the building faces south and is multi-faceted with large metal-framed windows comprising the majority of the façade, in addition to a single metal-framed glass door. The wall just below the roofline is clad in panels featuring illustrations of menu items. |
