| Additional Information: | 2016- "This Cross Gabled, frame farmhouse was erected between 1898 and 1917 for either W.B. Williams, or E. Williams. The farmhouse is very similar in appearance to W5506 County Highway A, suggesting a ca. 1900 construction date. It displays a stone rubble foundation, vinyl siding, and asphalt shingles on the hip-with-deck and cross-gabled roofs. The windows are replacements, and those on the first floor front facade may have been installed in altered openings. The hip-roofed, full-facade front porch exhibits heavy, turned posts and a ca. 1950s concrete base with perma-stone veneer, heavy turned posts. A long, flat-roofed addition attaches to the rear of the house and appears to date to ca. 1950. West of the farmhouse is the gabled, banked dairy barn (AHI #230936)." -"County Highway A, Mayflower Rd-State Highway 47", WisDOT #6505-03-00, Prepared by Elizabeth L. Miller. (2016). Cross Gabled, frame farmhouse that appears to date to ca. 1900 (does not appear on 1898 map). Stone rubble foundation, vinyl siding, asphalt shingles on hip-with-deck and cross-gabled roofs. Replacement windows; first floor front facade openings may have been changed. Front porch also appears altered; consists of concrete pad with ca. 1950s perma-stone veneer, heavy turned posts, asphalt-shingled hip roof. Also on site: banked dairy barn (AHI #230936), and ca. 1960 side-gabled machine shed/garage (to rear of house). |
