NOTES
Additional Information:2015- "This one-story, clapboard-sheathed, front-gabled cottage rises from a concrete block foundation. A small gabled and open porch fronts the house, next to which is a tripartite window grouping comprised of four-over-one light sash windows. A gabled projection extends from the mid-section of the home’s south elevation and carries a large, rectangular multiple-light window. Windows throughout the remainder of the house are largely singly arranged, multiple-light sash examples.

Assessor’s information cites an 1873 date of construction for the home; however, it is unclear as to whether or not the house is original to the subject lot. Permits record that the foundation was put under the house in 1926 by mason contractor George Staudt, who resided in the home until at least 1930. No further ownership information was pursued."

An 1888 fire insurance map (which includes paste overs) does indicate that the house was there by that date, Rascher Fire Insurance Map (Chicago: Rascher Fire Insurance Co., 1888), Available in the Humanities Room, Milwaukee Public Library.
