| Additional Information: | 2015- "This two-story Spanish Eclectic-style residence was constructed in 1928. It has a rectilinear footprint and cross gable roof. The house is oriented parallel to the north side of Washington Avenue by its side gable roof while the cross gable section extends to the rear (north). The facade is divided into three fenestration bays. The center bay features a small entrance pavilion with an arched opening and shield motif above the door. The front door itself is recessed within the entrance pavilion; it is arched and wood with a large multi light window. It is accessed by a wide concrete stoop, lined by a wrought iron railing. The first story facade windows include two six-over-six windows west of the entrance pavilion, and a bay window flush with the entrance pavilion on its east side. The bay window is comprised of four casements and has a shed roof. The top of the flat roofed pavilion is encircled by a metal railing, above which is a pair of small six-light casement windows. Two pairs of six-over-six double hung windows with decorative wood shutters light the east and west bays on the second story facade. Other window types present include an ellipse window in the gable ends, and simple three-light windows at the basement level. The roof is clad in orange American Spanish tiles and features a small brick chimney on one of the rear slopes." - "Washington Ave (STH 20), Roosevelt Ave to West Blvd", WISDot #2440-09-00, Prepared by Shelley Greene (2015). |
