| Additional Information: | ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE: Excellent example of this common type of gable front bungalow in nearly original condition. Construction date, 1921. (1) Resurveyed March 2017; subsequent changes include the removal of a wooden sill that originally rested on the modillions below the gable windows. This 1 ½ story Craftsman house was constructed in 1921. It is rectangular in plan with clapboard walls and an asphalt-shingled front-gable roof with overhanging eaves and wide bargeboards along the gables. The front elevation faces west and is asymmetrical in plan with a projecting front-gabled porch that also includes a narrower hipped-roof mass to span the remainder of the façade. The porch is supported at each front corner by three wood posts that rest on heavy concrete piers. The porch roofs feature exposed rafter ends. The wall inside both the porch and main gables is clad in decorative half timbering. The front door (located under the projecting front-gabled portion of the porch) is of wood construction with multi-light glazing in its upper half. South of this is a bank of four 6-over-1 windows. The wall under the main gable contains a bank of three 4-over-4 windows with projecting modillions below. |
