SUMMARY
Built between 1863 and 1940 east of the Fox River, this district is the center of commercial activity in Berlin. It includes 47 buildings, mostly of brick construction in commercial vernacular style with Italianate influences. The district also includes the Art Deco-inspired city hall built in 1928 and the Masonic Temple, built in 1889 in Queen Anne style.
