Workers Test Paint Quality at McCormick Works

Workers testing paint for physical constancy, viscosity and weight per gallon in the Paint Department of International Harvester's McCormick Works. Cans of "International Harvester Farm Machine Varnish Enamel Paint" and "International Harvester Motor Truck and Tractor Synthetic Enamel Paint" are on the work table. The McCormick Works was built by Cyrus McCormick in 1873 and became part of International Harvester in 1902. The factory was located at Blue Island and Western Avenues in the Chicago subdivision called "Canalport." It was closed in 1961.
