The photograph was taken for "Production; A Pictorial Report," an article appearing in the February-March 1959 issue of "Harvester World Magazine." The original caption reads, "Field Harvesters in Chicago. To get to Chicago's McCormick Works, some 4,000 employees trudged through February snow to build in quantity the profusion of machines and implements that Harvester's farm customers would need in the spring. The flatcars on which they loaded their output were among the 10,000 freight cars IH requires for its manufacturing operations in a single month." |
