Surviving crew members of the USS <I>Franklin</I> watching an amateur vaudeville on their hanger deck, seven says after their disaster. The USS <I>Franklin</I> had maneuvered closer to the Japanese mainland than any other carrier and was bombed twice from above by a Japanese plane. There were 724 casualties. The remaining crew managed to save the ship. The men are seen gathered around a makeshift stage as a man in a dress and hat is grinning and holding a microphone stand.
