Season's Greetings, Let's Stamp Out the Dictators! | Print | Wisconsin Historical Society
Holiday card with a 10¢ War Stamp Album glued inside. The front of the card shows Uncle Sam's large shoe kicking Hitler, Mussolini and Hirohito into space. Below is the top of a globe of the world, Santa Claus and two reindeer are standing on it. Santa is making the victory sign with his fingers. At the top the card it reads: "Season's Greetings, Let's Stamp Out the Dictators!" On Uncle Sam's shoe it says "U.S. War Stamps." On the inside, to the left, is an American flag with holly and the verse "Remember each stamp, That anyone buys, Is another good kick, At those dictator guys! So keep right on buying, For all you are worth, And we'll soon have the Axis "Stamped" off the Earth!" On the right is glued a 16 page 10¢ War Stamp Album with a red border and the American Eagle flying over the Federal shield. Below it reads: "For the purchase of United States War Savings Bonds 10¢ Stamps $25 Bonds." The inside of the stamp book (not shown) has squares to paste the stamps into. All of the pages have cartoons making fun of the Axis leaders and officers. (See the Public Note for instructions on how to redeem the Album.) Offset lithography.
