Season's Greetings
Holiday card for the 42d Rainbow Division. On a light green background is an illustration at an angle of a soldier, a church and a red, yellow and blue rainbow behind him. The sky is red below and blue above with the text "42d Rainbow Division" reversed to white. At the foot it reads: "Seasons Greetings." The prayer on the inside (not shown) explains the symbolism of the colors in the rainbow. It reads: "Almighty God ... We commend the Rainbow Division, its commander and its men, to thee, as an instrument of thy righteous justice ... Grant that our nation in the blue of its valor, the gold of its love and the red of its sacrifice. Amen. (Official Rainbow Division Prayer)" Letterpress. |
