ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Emma was born August 1873 probably in Neillsville (Clark Co.), Wisconsin, the daughter of William Ketel (c. 1845-c. 1900), a stone mason, and Matilda Miller/Mueller (b. 1855, WI). On September 4, 1901 Emma married David Gallagher (b. 1864), a lumberman, in Neillsville. The donor (Emma's granddaughter) describes them as extremely poor. In the 1900 census Emma and her mother were both listed as seamstresses, so they have made the wedding dress. WHS has needlework done by Emma to support her family, including a photograph of her working on it (1996.15).
