Stationary Engines Stored at International Harvester's Tractor Works
Stationary engines of various sizes stored in neat rows at International Harvester's Tractor Works. Wooden skids are leaning against many of the engines. Included are Mogul, Mogul Jr. and Mogul hopper cooled engines. In operation from 1910-1972, the works was located at 2600 West 31st Boulevard. The works occupied 82 land acres and 33 buildings, and employed 5000 people as of 1960. The works later closed in 1972 when construction equipment manufacture was moved to Melrose Park Works. Products: tractors (including Farmall A and B from 1939-1947), construction equipment, crawler tractors. |
