Tractorette Instruction
| Women sitting on grass watching a lecture on maintenance of Farmall A and Farmall M tractors. The lecture was part of International Harvester's "Tractorette" program. The company announced the "Tractorette" plan in 1942. The plan was intended to address the farm labor shortage created by U.S. war mobilization. The plan called for local dealers to offer free training for thousands of farm women and girls in the operation of tractors and other farm machinery. |
