The original caption reads: "Using fourteen gallons of Diesel oil per eight-hour day this tractor from Tuesday morning till Friday afternoon, with two men ripped up Junipere Avenue, 1/2 mile long, disked, rolled top dire over with a grader (Adams Model 4) mixed with oil and respread ready for traffic. Pulling a Killifer ripper through hard oil top road. The grader has an eight-foot blade. Some of the alleys are rather narrow and often only room enough for the grader and tractor to get through." Oil derricks are in the background. |
