Silent film actor Niles Welch is apparently using a wood saw on the engine of a 1918 Hudson Super Six touring limousine. Other carpenter's tools--a plane and a brace drill--are also close at hand. The intention of the photograph is certainly humorous. Original caption: "The attention of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Automobiles is respectfully invited to this picture." |
