Little Rock Hate Literature

Page 2 of a leaflet entitled "The Little Rock Story", apparently intended by its publisher, American Nationalist, to persuade NAACP sympathizers in Little Rock that the organization was a Jewish front. The text identifies the picture in the upper left as Arthur B. Spingarn, the Jewish president of the NAACP shaking hands with Herbert Lehman, a member of the NAACP board. This brochure was in the possession of Daisy Bates, president of the Arkansas NAACP, and she appears in the background of the picture identified as the "Negress who fronts for the organization in Arkansas." The picture on the lower right depicts President Eisenhower at a 1954 event. The brochure states that no one should be "the least surprised when he used Federal bayonets to coerce Little Rock school children into submitting to mongrelization." |
